Commission a One-of-a-Kind Piece of Wearable Art
Custom painted garments and accessories by Jason Brammer
Interested in transforming a favorite garment into a bold, expressive work of art? We welcome commissions for jackets, coats, vests, hats, bags, and more. Each piece is painted by hand by artist Jason Brammer, bringing together personal symbolism, intentional design, and fine art detail. Whether you want something fully conceptualized by Jason or have specific art direction in mind, we offer a collaborative and personalized process.
About Pricing
We do not currently have fixed pricing tiers, as each project is unique. Instead, we price each piece on a case-by-case basis and we offer complimentary, no-obligation estimates.
Several factors help shape the cost of a custom-painted piece, including:
The level of collaboration: from fully artist-led designs to projects involving mockups, feedback, and specific art direction
The type and complexity of the imagery: ranging from subtle accents to detailed symbolic compositions
The extent of painting: from small areas to fully painted surfaces
The nature of the garment itself: including its material, condition, size, and surface area (for example, a small child’s jacket vs. a long embellished coat), the complexity of its construction (such as collars, pockets, folds, or decorative elements), and its overall value
The timeline or urgency: rush projects may incur an additional fee
The Wearable Art Commission Process
Reach Out: Start by contacting us with a general idea and the type of garment you'd like painted.
Design Discovery: We’ll guide you through a simple process to learn about your preferences, such as favorite past pieces, color palettes, and any themes or symbolic elements you'd like to include. Part of this discovery may involve sharing samples of Jason’s previous work for your feedback. This step can happen in person at our Chicago studio, over Zoom or FaceTime, by phone, or through email—whatever works best for you.
Estimate & Booking: We’ll provide a personalized estimate. If you choose to move forward, a deposit is required to begin the project. (The remaining balance is due upon completion, before pickup or delivery.)
Design Development (if requested): For more collaborative projects, we offer an iterative design process that includes mockups, feedback, and revisions before painting begins.
Production: Jason hand-paints each piece with care and intention.
Delivery or Pickup: Once finished, we’ll coordinate local hand-off or shipping.
Ready to Start the Conversation?
Tell us about your garment or accessory, your ideas, and what you’re hoping to create (or how you are hoping to feel in this piece). We’d love to hear from you!
If it’s easy, feel free to include:
A photo of the garment you'd like painted
The type of fabric (e.g. denim, leather, faux leather, silk, cotton, etc.)
Any of Jason’s past painted pieces you particularly like (or don't)
These details help us better understand your vision, but none are required to get started.
There’s no pressure or commitment…we’re happy to answer questions and provide a free, personalized estimate.
