Beyond The Fold: Solo Exhibition at Chicago Truborn
A Journey Through the Realms of Jason Brammer
Spanning more than a decade of practice, Beyond The Fold highlights Jason’s masterful use of paint to blur the line between illusion and reality—bringing together select works from the 2010s through the present, alongside brand-new pieces.
Opening Reception: Friday, October 3, 2025 • 5–8 PM
Opening Weekend: Saturday & Sunday, October 4–5 • 12–6 PM
Spontaneous live painting and informal artist Q&A throughout the day.
Timed with West Town Art Walk, the weekend will be full of art and festivities.
What To Expect:
The exhibit moves between cutout works on paper, shaped-panel paintings, and assemblage-based mixed media. Some pieces showcase delicate, hand-drawn line-based compositions that invite close inspection through repetition, rhythm, and detail. Others use airbrush and traditional brush techniques to fold space and forge illusion: surfaces rendered to look like weathered wood, oxidized metal, or dimensional forms.
Some creations resemble relics unearthed from alternate realities; others read like field notes from imagined worlds, documenting mythical creatures that inhabit these realms. At the heart of this exhibition is Jason’s evolving language of illusion, materiality, and myth.
