The paintings from my Soundscapes series are inspired by sound and audio concepts, many exploring the relationship between sound, time, and the rural landscape. Some of the imagery suggests that the future is intervening in the pasture, while being documented by an unseen observer. What would an antique sound machine that transmits messages from the future look like? What would a machine from the future, that is setting up a transmission station in the past, look like? I had questions such as these in mind while painting the works from this series.
